At Light + Building, MDT is launching more than 300 new products – and these innovations span the entire product portfolio: for example, there are new actuators which, in addition to their KNX Secure functionality, also offer new features such as the ‘Virtual Interface’, which allows test switching to be carried out in the ETS, thereby eliminating the need to access the control cabinet. In addition to new versions of the Glas Touch Smart in 2 and 4-inch sizes, MDT is also introducing the new VisuControl Plus Panel, once again more than living up to its role as an innovator in the KNX market with these new products. With the acquisition of the Tense brand in 2024, MDT has already taken the step into the high-quality push-button range. At Light + Building, visitors will be able to experience the high-quality finishes up close, including new finishes in wood and stone. In addition to technical upgrades and redesigns for the Intensity, Velocity, Serenity and Motivity product lines, the Tense portfolio is being expanded to include the Eternity product family. Eternity is the new touch-display family in the Tense brand’s high-end design range. The Eternity 8, a stylish VisuControl with elegant frames made from genuine materials, enables the control, visualisation and monitoring of functions such as heating, shading and lighting. Furthermore, door communication and IP cameras can be integrated via this new display.

MDT is expanding its KNX RF+ portfolio, offering new possibilities for renovators and tenants. The new window handles and radiator thermostats, which are already available, provide greater comfort and security – and can be integrated wirelessly into the KNX system. The innovative Deep Sleep mode ensures exceptionally long battery life.

MDT is launching something completely new with the homeXpert: from now on, this offers the professional solution for an easy entry into the smart home. At the heart of the system is the homeXpert Server, which acts as a control centre to manage the RF+ products. The server is easily configured via the dedicated MDT app and the MDT configuration tool, which is available online. No prior knowledge of ETS is required to get started. However, if desired, the project can be upgraded to a classic KNX system at a later date – for example, when moving into your own home. KNX stands for an open, manufacturer-independent system, something MDT places great importance on. This means that products from other manufacturers can also be integrated via a ‘Works With homeXpert’ licence. Wireless.Smart.Home

The topic of ‘KNX Secure’ is also omnipresent in the KNX industry. This new security standard, which comes into effect in Europe from December 2027, is already available in almost all best-sellers in the MDT portfolio. 

MDT has grown significantly since the last Light + Building: through the acquisition of the Tense brand and the companies Tapko and Apricum, as well as through the establishment of international branches. As a result, the group has grown to more than 250 employees, and an international team of KNXperts welcomed visitors at the trade fair. And, of course, alongside all the new products and technical discussions about KNX, a delicious Kölsch was a must.
